Alpaca United CEO Musings from ITMA – 2011

CEO, Nick Hahn – Musings from ITMA

Opening day at ITMA went very well, steady stream of visitors with 3 or 4 serious inquiries about fiber purchasing.

All the exhibitors were up against the opening ceremonies (Koffee Annan’s keynote speech et al) at an outside venue; in spite of it we were got good traffic. Guess what was the surprise “hit”, our hats, everyone wanted one but were politely informed that US$29.95 or EURO⋹ 22.21 would buy one for cash or my handy Square Iphone cc swipe!
Sat-Sun-Mon are the three biggest days for traffic, we’re lucky to have Robyn and Liz available to help us.
They’re both in Spain (safe & sound) and have contacted me, Robyn at booth tomorrow and Liz on Saturday.

Brian is working out great, VERY quick study if not a tad “shy”,  I’m pushing him out front and he’s quickly “getting it”, think he’s a bit overwhelmed by the shear size and scope of the show–it would overwhelm anyone!! (Claudia comment – I bet Nick is up to the job of showing Brian the “sizzle” that goes along with promoting “our feel the luxury” fiber)

We go early and put directories at other booths plus handing them out to eveyone who walks by-your tile sponsorship ads are getting great exposure.

We continue to get VERY positive feedback on Facebook for booth and tile photos, and some of other industry supporters – Brett Kaysen from Colorado State being one.

The press is covering us and we seem to be creating a small “buzz” around the show, people stopping by because someone told them to~~.

Suzanne Weiner (Exec Director-NC Textile Foundation), stopped by today, will be spending time with her and Blanton Godfrey on Sat or Sun.

Julia went back to the States this morning as Brian arrived, we have the bases covered which is good because I needed one of them to navigate me through the Barcelona subway system-they’re both good with a train map!!

More tomorrow.
Cheers – Nick and Team
